Voting Day: All the details of Uganda election in pictures


Ugandans are voting for the presidential election today 18th February, 2016. The country has been under a single government for three decades. President Yoweri Museveni who has been ruling the country for 30 years running is one of the 3 major contenders.
The 2016 election is more contentious and much more unpredictable. Here are some photographs taken before and during voting.


Accreditation was peaceful across the country. Locals in countryside and residents in Kampala all came out to get accredited for voting.


Former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo was on ground as a leading Observer at the polls.


Aggrieved youths in kibuli over delayed polling materials took to the street. Police has long taken control.
