Here's a sad twist for the Grammys tonight: Rihanna, who was set to perform later in the show, has left the venue and cancelled her performance because it poses a serious medical risk to her,TMZ reports.
RiRi was planning to sing "Kiss Me Better" and rehearsed twice during the day. But sources close to production tell the outlet that a doctor on site recommended the singer, who has been struggling with bronchitis and is on medication, hold back. Singing could permanently damage her vocal cords.
Rihanna reportedly did come to the show but did not walk the red carpet. She apologized later on her Twitter:
#NAVY so sorry I couldn't be there ..... Thanks Grammys and CBS for your support tonight.
