Abuja - A group of protesters took to the Senate on Tuesday, calling for the suspension of Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki despite a report on Kabiru Marafa's actions having been submitted to the Senate.
Marafa was being investigated by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions due to him having granted interviews to the media just two weeks prior.
A group of protesters, known as the Open Society and Good Governance Initiative, took issue with the development, defending Marafa for merely exercising his freedom of speech and saying that he should not incur the wrath of the Senate as a result.

The President of the group, Emeka Ude, called for the encouragement of free speech while expressing disappointment over the Senate's attempt to silence vibrant Senators.
The group has since called for Saraki's resignation due to his trial at the Code of Conduct
