I have been a fitness instructor for a decade which has given me the opportunity of meeting different people. The question that my clients frequently ask is that for how long do they need to exercise and since Nigerians are good in answering question with question. So I always ask them how long do they need to stay healthy?
I have observed that the perception of majority of my clients who mostly believe that fitness exercise is limited to weight loss. But I always make them to understand that there are other benefits such as gaining strength, flexibility, endurance, managing stress levels and boosting the immune system.
I have always advised my clients to focus on improving their health as an aim in their fitness program. We have people who join an aerobic class with the aim of losing weight but the problem arise when they find it difficult to achieve the goal as a result it discourages them. While if a client achieves his aim the interest to continue vanishes but if you are someone like me who exercise to achieve a healthy lifestyle then you will like to be fit for life.
