Two hikers on Saturday found a human skull near the iconic Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, police said.
The discovery near a popular hiking trail in Bronson Canyon in Griffith Park appeared to have been in the area for a few years, according to CNN.
It’s not the first time human remains were spotted in the park, which has rugged terrain and a lot of shrubbery. A human skull was found there in 2010, according to the Los Angeles Times. CNN said a decapitated head was found there in 2012.
The investigation into Saturday’s finding is ongoing, authorities said.
