Why I Named My Dog Buhari: Dog Owner Narrates His Ordeal In Police Custody

The Police in Ogun State, yesterday, released unconditionally, the 30-year-old trader, Joe Fortemose  Chinakwe, who was arrested last Saturday for naming his pet dog ‘Buhari’.

embattled trader, who was visibly angry after his three-day incarceration in police cell, was let off the hook around 5pm on Tuesday after the intervention of both the Serkin Hausa and President-General of non-indigenes in the state. It was learned that the prompt intervention of the elders made the complainant to withdraw the case he reported against the trader at Sango-Ota division which was later transferred to Police headquarters at Eleweran.
However, police sources said both the complainant and suspect were made to sign an undertaking not to cause any breach of peace again.
Speaking  after his release, the trader, a father of two from the Niger Delta, who trades on second hand clothing lamented that he was made to suffer for no just cause.

 Complainant from Niger Republic
Narrating his ordeal, Chinakwe said “It is annoying because the complainant is from Niger Republic and I am sure he is one of those illegal aliens in this country.  He connived with one Police Sergeant from the Northern part of Nigeria called Musa, who works at Sango Police division to humiliate me.  Worse still, the Divisional Police Officer there, did not help matters as he refused to entertain any plea from me after I was arrested that Saturday night. He simply ordered his men to throw me into the cell.” Why dog was named Buhari Continuing, he said “I did not commit any offence. I named my beloved pet dog Buhari, who is my hero. My admiration for Buhari started far back when he was a military Head of State. It continued till date that he is a civilian President. After reading his dogged fight against corruption, which is like a canker worm eating into the very existence of this country, I solely decided to rename my beloved dog which I called Buhari, after him. I did not know that I was committing an offence for admiring Buhari.

Ordeal with Police
“I was intimidated and thrown inside the cell with hardened criminals for about three days. While I was there, the complainant from Niger Republic and Sergeant Musa from the North kept on taunting me saying people from my part of the country are trouble makers and that after detaining me, they will throw me into prison where I will die unsung. ”Even when my wife came with our baby on her back, they stopped her from giving me food.  One of my friends that came to see me was also maltreated. “While taking me to Eleweran the next day, they handcuffed and chained me together with that my friend. Fortunately, when we got to police headquarters, both the Commissioner of Police and other officers were angry with their colleagues at Sango-Ota. ”They were wondering loudly why I was brought to the headquarters over such a minor case. It’s very unfortunate that I have to be so humiliated in my own country because of the antics of a foreigner in connivance with my brother from the North.”

Why Spike Lee and Jada Pinkett Smith and other Blacks Won’t Attend Oscars

The outcry over the nomination of 20 white actors, and no black ones, for the Academy Awards gained momentum on Monday — Martin Luther King’s Birthday — as the director Spike Lee and the actress Jada Pinkett Smith announced they would not be attending the ceremony on Feb. 28.But at a star-studded gathering of mostly black performers to honor Dr. King, organized at Riverside Church in Harlem, mentions of the Academy Awards were kept in check, even by those whose films and performances were ignored.
Neither the event’s host, Ryan Coogler, the director of “Creed,” nor the film’s stars, Michael B. Jordan, who read a Fred Hampton speech before a rapt crowd, and Tessa Thompson, who read one by Angela Davis, alluded to the complaints surrounding the nominations. (The only Oscar nomination for “Creed” went to Sylvester Stallone, for his performance as a supporting actor.)
Chris Rock, the comedian scheduled to host the awards, also kept on message after taking to the church’s stage following Mr. Jordan, reciting “My Dungeon Shook” by James Baldwin.

Addict snatched heroin from police interview table and ATE it

A drug addict ATE a wrap of heroin from a police interview table in a desperate bid to destroy police evidence. Alan Timperley, 38, was being quizzed by Lancashire Police officers when they found the Class A drug concealed on his person.
An officer placed the drugs on the table during his subsequent interrogation - but Timperley snatched the stash and swallowed it. Burnley Crown Court heard that the serial criminal, who has 35 convictions for 66 offences, opted to dispose of the drugs because the officer was ‘doing his head in’.Timperley, of Accrington, Lancs, was jailed for four months after pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice as well as earlier burglary and theft offences. He was detained by police on November 19 last year for unrelated offences when he ate the heroin wrap, according to Michael Brady, prosecuting.

Timperley was already on bail at the time following a theft of an iPhone and a burglary in which around £400 of vodka was also taken. David Morton, defending, insisted that Timperley had been trying to seek help for his long-standing drug problem in a bid to turn his life around. Mr Morton said: “It is very odd for such an exhibit to be put in front of an individual who was struggling with not having either a prescription or drugs.“It was put on the table in front of him during the interview and under those circumstances, as he was suffering from withdrawal and desperation, he stuck it in his mouth.“They knew what it was, he knew what it was. It’s clearly not acceptable but a very unusual offence.”

Michael Jackson in not my father: Prince Jackson opens up

Prince Jackson is admitting it ... there's a chance Michael Jackson isn't his biological parent, but he's also saying MJ is still dad. This started when someone trolled Prince on Twitter by saying, "everyone knows you are a Rowe-Klein NOT A Jackson!!" Prince responded, "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb ... I was raised by my dad with my brother and sister."
Prince's statement is the closest he's ever come to saying MJ isn't blood -- but it also makes it clear Michael is the only father he's ever known.
There have been a lot of rumors claiming Dr. Arnie Klein fathered Michael's kids with Debbie Rowe.
Klein added fuel to the fire in 2013 when he compared an old drivers license PIC of himself to one of Prince.
But some has confirmed, and previously reported, Michael is NOT Prince's biological father ... and neither is Arnie Klein

Playboy Mansion Is for Sale for $200 Million, but......

For a cool $200 million, you can own a piece of Hollywood history and live with a legend. The Playboy Mansion is officially on the market, it was announced on Monday, although the deal stipulates Hugh Hefnerwill continue to live on the iconic property until his death.
"This is the right time to seek a buyer for this incredible property who understands the role the Mansion has played for our brand and enables us to continue to reinvest in the transformation of our business," Playboy Enterprises CEO Scott Flanders said in a statement.
"The Playboy Mansion has been a creative center for Hef as his residence and workplace for the past 40 years, as it will continue to be if the property is sold."The "crown jewel of L.A.'s 'Platinum Triangle,'" as it’s dubbed in the statement, sits on five acres in Holmby Hills. The nearly 20,000 square foot mansion includes 29 rooms, a catering kitchen, wine cellar, home theater, separate game house, gym, tennis court and a freeform swimming pool -- not to mention that infamous grotto.

At the time Hef and Playboy purchased the home, it was the largest real estate transaction in Los Angeles history," said Gary Gold of Beverly Hills real estate agency Hilton & Hyland. "Today, we hope to make the same history with the property and its sprawling acreage, neighboring the Los Angeles Country Club.”The listing comes just one month after the storied magazine published its last-ever nude issue.
Pamela Anderson graced the cover and said that she was shocked to learn of the re-branding decision."I was like, 'What? Are you serious?' But then I thought that's probably a good thing," Anderson explained. "It's hard to compete with the Internet. And the girl next door doesn't exist anymore. She's taking selfies down her shirt, like, you know, there's no mystery over there anymore. It doesn't have that same charm and innocence that it used to."But Anderson still made the most of her final nude photo shoot at the mansion."I took off all my clothes, and I rolled down the hill as fast as I can," she said. "I was just screaming, and hair and boobs were flying, and shoes were going everywhere."

(Again -- for $200 million, you can own that very hill.)

Kendall Jenner and Harry Styles are dating

Khloe Kardashian says she's pretty sure her sister, Kendall Jenner, is dating Harry Styles."Do I think they're dating? Yes," Kardashian told ET's Kevin Frazier, who was first on the set of "Kocktails With Khloe"on Thursday, where she opened up about the cute couple's relationship status.
"I don't know if they're like boyfriend-girlfriend," Kardashian explained to ET. "Nowadays I don't know. People are weird with stuff. So, I don't know their title. But I mean, they were in St. Barts together hanging out, so to me that's dating.
!Rumors that the two were romantically linked began to swirl over the holidays when they were spotted getting super cozy on a yacht while vacationing together in St. Barts on New Year's Eve.
A source close to Jenner told ET that "there has been something going on with those two for a while" and it was the 20-year-old model "who made the first move," inviting the 21-year-old One Direction member on the trip.
Jenner, who showed off her figure in a string bikini, laid out on the deck of the yacht with a shirtless Styles, who rocked his signature man bun. The two were even caught in what looked like a steamy lip-lock aboard the ship.
Celebrity couples who can't keep their hands off each other"I would call that dating," said Kardashian. "[But] I don't know what they are. You know, you have the have 'the talk' [and] I don't know if they've had that talk yet."After their steamy alone time, Jenner and Styles spent New Year's Day hanging out with Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia De Rossi, for lunch on a C2 mega yacht.
Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner & Cara Delevingne party in NYC!At the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, Ellen may have inadvertently confirmed the duo's couple status when she spoke with ET backstage after the show.
In gushing over Jenner and Styles, the talk show host insinuated that the two are romantically involved, saying,"They're very sweet. "I like both of them individually and I like them together as well.

Mist Read: Mechanic jailed for raping, impregnating 15-year

An Ikeja Magistrates' Court in Lagos State, on Thursday, remanded a 30-year-old mechanic, Soliu Arolu, who allegedly raped and impregnated a teenager, in prison.
The Magistrate, Mrs T.O. Shomade, ordered the accused to be remanded in Kirikiri Prison and adjourned the case till January 27 when the bail application would be heard.
Arolu, a mechanic, who lives at 2, Adewusi Lane, off Ajegunle Street, Ilupeju, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge bordering on rape. The prosecutor, Inspector Benedict Eigbokhon, told the court that the offences were committed sometime in September 2015 at the residence of the accused.
According to the prosecutor, the accused stays in the same compound with the victim, a 15-year-old."It was when the victim's mother discovered that she was pregnant that she told her that it was the accused that raped her," he said.
The offence, according to the prosecutor, contravened sections 137 and 263(1) (2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Justin Bieber opened up About Selena Gomez & Kourtney Kardashian.

Selena Gomez is "so beyond done" talking about ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, she told rolling Stone this week. But Justin, the man who once said he will "never stop checking in on her,"isn't quite done talking about her. During a Dec. 17 radio interview on The Bert Show, airing this Wednesday, Bieber shared his reaction to the Instagram shot Selena posted of her "Hands to Myself" costar, Christopher Mason.
"What is she trying to do to my heart right now?" he started—though he quickly made it clear that was a joke. "I'm just kidding. She loves me. I love her, too, always. Who's this guy? He's a joke! This guy's a chump. Nah, I guess he's pretty handsome actually–I can't even lie.
"Then Justin put an end to the Jelena reconciliation rumors…for now: "I just want her to be happy. I love Selena. We're friends still. We needed time to grow for ourselves and we were like, 'Maybe we'll come back together in the future,' and then it ended up being so long and we just grew apart and we're not the same people anymore."
As for Kourtney Kardashian, his rumored hookup? "I'm being used, man. What can I say?" He, again, joked about a headline. When asked whether anything is there, Justin replied simply: "Nah, we'll leave it at that….No, no, but for real, she's great, I've known the family for years."

woman Whose 'Body Is A Brewery'

A woman has beaten a drink-driving charge after she was diagnosed with a rare medical condition that causes her body to turn food into alcohol.
The motorist was found to be four times over the blood-alcohol limit when she was stopped last year in New York state.
Police pulled over the 35-year-old school teacher in a Corolla with a flat tyre after she was seen driving erratically, reports the Buffalo News. The responding officer said the driver smelled of alcohol, was slurring her speech, and had glassy, bloodshot eyes.
The unnamed woman was able to recite the alphabet, but had trouble with other sobriety tests, police said. She was charged with driving while impaired.
The woman did admit to having three alcoholic beverages earlier in the day, but her lawyers said she had not consumed enough to end up with the .33% reading.
A judge in the Buffalo suburb of Hamburg dismissed the charges earlier this month after medical tests showed the woman had "auto-brewery syndrome".Her condition, also known as gut fermentation syndrome, involves an excess of yeast in the digestive system converting carbohydrates to alcohol.
Auto-brewery syndrome was first documented in the 1970s in Japan. Only a handful of cases have been reported around the world.

Headies : HipTv addresses Olamide/Don Jazzy feud

HipTv, The organisers of the Headies released a statement in defence of the 2015 edition of the awards ceremony which took place on Friday, January 1, 2016.
Not a few artistes and fans have complained of perceived bias regarding the process of nomination and also the selection of winners.
Reacting to the grumblings, the Headies organisers vouched for the fairness of the awards in a press release, on Monday, January 4.

“We are proud of what we have achieved over the years. The Headies stage has birthed the careers of many artistes who are of A-list status today.
We are also glad that we have reinstated pride and prestige into the winning of a locally organised music awards and, we have celebrated artistic ingenuity for 10 straight years; a feat no other group before us was able to achieve.
Every year, the screening team collate all creative materials released in the year in review and screen for nomination. This tedious process goes on for at least three months before the screening team comes out with a final list.
The voting categories, such as ‘Song Of The Year’, ‘Artist Of The Year’, & ‘Next-Rated’ are left strictly for fans to vote and choose the winners. We wish to say categorically that we do not tamper with the outcome of the voting process.
The limit of our involvement in this voting process is to advice the nominees to engage their fans and solicit for their votes. We do not accept any responsibility for failure on the part of the nominees or their record label, when they fail to do this.
Unfortunately, most times, Voting, Year In Review and Definitions Of Each Category, are generally taken for granted by many artists. We can also attest to, and hereby state categorically that, there is no evidence that any of the artistes aggrieved and vocal about their displeasure to the turnout of the award, voted in the ‘Next-Rated’ category, as our voting process captures email addresses and phone numbers.
We have ensured that the awards happened regardless of sponsorship, and that it gets better with each passing year, without giving excuses about challenges. We may not have gotten everything 100% right, but integrity has been our watch-word.
The 109 Nigerian artistes that have won can attest to the fact that they did nothing different from those that have not. Awards by nature, are and will always remain, controversial except every nominee gets one.
We try to ensure that winners are within reach before announcing their category, as the whole essence of celebrating talents will be defeated without that.
While it is not out of place for an artiste or a party to vent their disapproval, we strongly condemn all kinds of improper conduct and the use of profanity on live television. In the same manner, we condemn provocative comments.
In all, we see no use or reason for a disgruntled artiste or party to destroy valuable properties put in place to give them extra comfort before they perform or come on stage. This is totally unacceptable and will be addressed.
We congratulate all nominees and winners of The Headies 2015 and wish them a more successful 2016.”

YBNL vs MARVINS feud: fans troll Dija

Headies: Jimmy Jatt blasts HipTv

The following is DJ Jimmy Jatt‘s public statement:

“When i wrote my first open letter to Headies on December 29, 2013, the majority opinions I got was that I was correct while others felt I was just an “Attention seeker”. Headies as an award should be credible and not just over hyped. We have hundreds of award shows every year in Nigeria and they are not as controversial as this one.
Headies as an award are still not appreciating certain artiste, producers, entertainers and Dj’s who work 24/7 to make sure they bring out the best. They give us the impression that once you are not nominated or you do not win, you have not started your career; This is a BIG LIE. Over the years, All Ayo Animashaun and HipTv family have proven that it is Money over Integrity and that is why he always ignores the choices of majority of Nigerians or could it be that they innocently don't even know what they are doing?I am not here to analyse the faults of headies in full but you can read the other complains on twitter with the hashtag #TheHeadies2015.
Firstly, I noticed your hall was half empty. Your live broadcast that you always brag about had the picture quality of NTA channel 10 and your technical crew were going offline every time things became awkward and they immediately have to switch to “lyrics on the go” to cover up your shame. I watched BET African awards live and Mtv and i can see a very huge difference in all aspects. You still have a lot to learn. Another disturbing fact is that headies as an award is creating bad blood among colleagues in the Nigerian music scene. Headies is the reason why we have not seen collaborations among certain musicians.
Tell me why Phyno, Davido, Falz, Solidstar and many other music producers and artiste who have been topping charts this year where not recognized? Next Rated Now Of all the categories, this is the only one worth arguing over. Even though this is not a voting category, I stand by million of Nigerians to say that Lil Kesh or Kiss daniel deserve the award. What are the reasons? Lil Kesh has more hit tracks, Swag, Stage performance, Composure and in the long run Lil Kesh may last longer for years to come. Infact, I will rather invest N10m on Lil kesh career than Reekado’s. That is not to say Reekado is not hardworking or he does not have the talent but lil kesh has that special something.
Infact Reekado still does not have any Hit track to date. Yes !!!!! I say that with all sense of authority. Songs like Corner, Sugar baby, Catapult are NOT hit tracks, they are just popular and they could have gone National but they are NOT hit tracks. Dont confuse a popular song with a Hit track. Let me explain, As a DJ if I dont play “Gbese” “Efejoku” “Shoki” “Reggae Blues” “Woju” “Laye” “Godwin” at any party, i will have loads of people coming to request for them but people dont disturb me ifi do not play Reekado banks songs. Do you get the point? In fact another proof Reekado still does not own a hit track is that an average Nigerian parent who do not follow music still know songs like “Woju” “Bobo”, “Ojuelegba” and “Efejoku”. While i was writing this, i played reekado’s songs to the older generation and they claimed never to have heard them.
In conclusion All Nigerian artiste and Producer, don’t put your trust on the Headies which ought to now be alluded to as “The Leggings”. Try not to say in light of the fact that you where not remembered it implies you are not trying, continue doing what you are doing and let the Headies continue doing what they are known for – NONSENSE.. !!! Bear in mind to send your insults and blessing to the writer @Baddestdjtimmy and let me know precisely how you feel. I additionally require someone to clear this it would be ideal if you Don Jazzy said ” The coordinators instructed him to call Reekado to come… So he exited Alibaba’s appear” Does that mean he knew Reeky was going to win that class? Cynthia Morgan was truant and i am certain the coordinators did not advise Jude Okoye to advise Cynthia Morgann to surge down there.”

HEADIES: The Beginning of an Epic war

The 2015 edition of Nigeria's most prestigious Music Award night started and ended on sad notes.
The event which was shifted from 30th December, 2015 to 1st January, 2016, witnessed a low early turn out. The low turn out was expected because the Headies clashed with Alibaba's annual 1st January event. Most of the artiste expected at the Headies were at the Alibaba 1st January show.
The Headies officially started at about 11:30pm ( Nigeria Time), the duo of Bovi and Kaffy anchored the 2015 Headies.
Eva Allohdia had a surprise proposal from her boyfriend, (she said yes) and both couple had a kiss on stage at the Headies.

The event was characterized with wow performances by different artiste, however, the general organization of the Headies was disappointing. Bovi and Kaffy were at their best, keeping the audience and viewers entertained.
The climax of the event was the announcement of 'The Next Rated', Lil Kesh, Raekado Banks and Korede Bello were all nominated as next rated, other nominees in the category includes Kiss Daniel and Cynthia Morgan.
Reakado Banks was announced as the winner of the next rated. While Raekado was going up to receive the award, Lil Kesh couldn't control his tears.

Olamide was disappointed in the choice made by the organizers and he poured out his anger when he came up to receive 'artiste of the year' award.

Don Jazzy couldn't hold back his words after Olamide's action and he this asked Olamide to come and collect the car given to Raekado as the Next Rated.
Both crew left the event hall and things went worst after Olamide's tweets which got over 3000 RTs within 15 minites

Don Jazzy is yet to respond to the abusive tweets posted by Olamide.
