Read: Official Suspension Letter sent to Timipre Sylva in Bayelsa State.

All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State, headed by the state’s Chairman, Chief Tiwei Orunimighe, on Saturday, suspended its governorship candidate in the 2015 election, Chief Timipre Sylva.

In a statement, Orunimighe said the decision to suspend Sylva, a former governor of the state and the leader of the party in Bayelsa was reached after due consultations with the relevant stakeholders.

Orunimighe described the decision to suspend Sylva as “painful but necessary” following the pending investigations brought to the party against him.

Four other executive members of the party including the Publicity Secretary, Panebi Fortune, were also suspended for conniving with Sylva for allegedly destabilising the party by publishing an illegal statement.

Below is the official letter sent to Sylva.

This is coming at a time when PDP is uniting aggrieved and defected members under the new Chairmanship of Ali Modu Sheriff.  APC however is faced with several suspensions of top party members. In Kaduna state, Senator Shehu Sanni was suspended under same guise of anti party activities. Kwankwaso in Kano State had same suspension of anti party activities.
